REST OF FRIDAY

GREAT TO HAVE GAIL HERE

WHOOPS  snagged on my climbing rose

WE spent friday relaxing - gin and tonics out on the grass, a long walk along the river up to thegoa lagoon and back.  it was a perfect sunny day, so good after the yucky windy dusty weather we've been having.   dinner at home, a movie - a chilled out day with my dear friend.

the dry earth - it looks
like a navajo desert

the neverending job - keeping things watered

SATURDAY -  a beautiful day - about 32deg, sunny, clear. we drove into mildura and took the river cruise on old paddlesteamer the Rothbury - it goes through lock 11 so i was able to learn just how the lock works, also the weir.  i'm always hearing people talking about putting and a taking out the boards, never knew what it meant - now i do.

LUNCH UNDER THE VINES

We finished the day with scrabble on the river bank and another dinner at home.

SUNDAY SUNRISE OVER LOCK 10

TOOK GAIL to the airport for a 10 a.m. flight

gail's coffee above - a nice fat heart on top

my coffee -  a weird face, could it be Alf ??

it was my birthday today - good friend donnie had
a lunch for me, julie and kevin and ruth, donnie and
and peter and me,  lovely to spend the afternoon
with them.

lovely old bins outside donnie's chook pen
 on the way home . . .
i'm thrilled to see three black swans on the lock, since i've been here there have been none - so many other birds, and plenty of black swans in mildura and all along the river but not here.   i hope they stay and move along to my place
