AWAKE AT 2.15am

IT'S HOT but the days are dry and still, not bad but i can't sleep tonight. i've just been outside to photograph the moon which was shining straight in my bedroom window.

SUNNY'S HOME AGAIN and i'll get back into the book today - drawing an atom bomb sky   -  lots of water soluble graphite and water i think

we were watching 'the player',

the jacket i bought in the op
shop in melbourne years ago.

- the art vault launch went beautifully, lots
of people, sold lots of books, rob did the intro with his usual style, sunny very kindly manned the bar

a very nice roomful of people and young finn japp brought along his violin and played in the background

with holly, who modelled so beautifully for the swan queen

I've been working on the

A WALK before it got too hot,  down to the lock

Then a day of wrangling with adobe and online stuff, trying to get back into inDesign.  everything's on the cloud now - i'm going to need help

AN EVENING STROLL around the garden
and down to the riverbank

ON OCTOBER 27 i walked down the lane on the way back from the newsagent and saw this giant yukka towering over a fence like jack's beanstalk.
today i went back to check on it and it's become a monster, almost a tree, notice the crested pigeon sitting up there as an indicator of scale

YESTERDAY MORNING i was up very early, getting things ready for airbnb guests who were arriving in the afternoon. i had arisen at 4 to go to the loo and the toilet seat had just come off and fallen sideways!  their toilet seat! so i'd tried to go back to sleep but couldn't so after a couple of hours of lying awake trying to figure out how to fix it i strolled out to look around the damp garden after all the rain.   i came around a bush and looked up to see this big buggar happily grazing.  he looked up at me, i say hullo and watched him for a minute.  then scurried in for the camera, came out again and got some shots.   the one of him standing was later after i returned to the verandah and made a few sounds to get his attention.   it wasn't until i looked at my pics that i realised how big and muscular his was.  :0|

the arnie of kangaroos!

the toilet seat, you ask?   plumber said he'd come at 8, i didn't know what time the guests were arriving, had sent a message but no reply.
8,9,10,12 - finally i rang and poor steve and his son were up to their waists in mud doing a big urgent job.  finally he came at 4!   luckily my guests didn't arrive till about 7 - here for the return of Mungo man.   a day wasted for me - i got nothing much done, but all good in the end

I RECEIVED the Australian Artist magazine in the mail, featuring a 6 page article which i wrote with pics.  for the price of a book donated by allen&unwin, they very kindly added a full page ad :0)   so kind

I HEADED INTO MILDURA today to do a list of things, drove past this tree which astounds me every year, the colour is simply electric and it's sitting in the middle of an almost empty block - just sensational

these little flowers were popping and dropping off
around me as i stood under it with my camera
