I COULDN'T BELIEVE how deeply the rain had soaked in when i sunk a spade into the earth. so yesterday i went crazy with digging, extending the borders of gardens around the circular drive and enlarging the garden in the middle. sadly no more rain and lots of wind, but at least the rain has soaked in at least 12 " or more.
