BIRDSPOTTING

I HAD A VISITOR TODAY - finally i got to see a kingfisher and photograph it.  A little fellow flew into my window yesterday and sat stunned on the ground but i didn't get a shot before he flew off. Today he was sitting on a lower branch, usually they're way up the top of the tallest tree.

Tonight i did a talk at the Wentworth Library and i met Maud Crang, a lovely 99 year old lady whose brother built my house.  She's still as sharp as a tack and has written three books of history about wentworth's buildings.  She told me she'd like to redo them all - better.  A shame i didn't get a pic with her.
