I'M A WANNABE TRADIE

I'm getting a new coonara wood heater and it needs a hearth. 1m x1.2m.  i could buy an ugly slate one for $450 or make my own with leftover black tiles from the bathroom. that's what i'm doing but it's far more complicated than i thought.  just fitting the tiles exactly without cutting any is enough, then there's the specifications, is it in exactly the right spot, i need a mitre box and coping saw to do the timber edging, i think i've bought it too thin :0(   aaah!  yesterday i was anxious, today i'm determined.  and tired, sigh.  not much progress but i have everything i need now.
