I LOOKED out the bedroom window today and saw a large bird swoop down, went to look and there was a whistling kite swooping over the goanna as he strolled across the lawn. i ran for the camera and by the time i got out the door the goanna was stockstill with the kite in a tree, watching . . . i waited and waited for more action but the goanna snuck off into the bamboo curses!!
i'm researching desert limes and tasmanian pepperberries for some illustration work i'm doing for a gin label. they're both lovely plants and both natives of australia.
