LAST NIGHT we had a crazy mini cyclone, that may be a slight exaggeration but it's the first time i've seen what i'd call roiling clouds coming up the river, then huge winds that chased me indoors and the biggest dump of rain i've seen since i've been here, it looked like someone had just swished a 40 gallon drum of water off the edge of the roof. It only lasted about 10 minutes then the wind dropped and a heavy steady rain set in.
After a decade on the Murray/Darling confluence I've moved to the Bellarine Peninsula on Pt Phillip Bay. I've been so lucky to spend time with the fabulous birdlife and animals and the river itself, not to mention the warm and friendly people of the Sunraysia. Now i'll be close to family and old friends. My new home is surrounded by the bay and wetlands so there'll be much to discover

I think, stormy nights are horrible. I live alone and before stormy night,I take necessary precautions before this and cabled weather stations resource helps a lot.
