EXCITEMENT on my walk this morning, i spotted the gorgeous rainbow bee-eater, a young one so the colours aren't the brilliant jewel colours of the adult but here it is

MORE EXCITEMENT when the council workers arrived and started trimming back the walking track in response to my visit to the council offices on monday. now i won't have to slash my way through with a machete :0)
I'm also enjoying taking part in the birdbath survey - in this hot weather it's birdie central, all kinds of visitors
