NEARLY THERE

ALL READY TO GO FOR MY CLASSES TOMORROW
after waking up to a beautiful sunrise. It's been a gorgeous warm day

Ah yes, Gavin next door comes over for his traditional l-o-n-g chinwag

It's nice to work in the large living area with all my friends'
artwork on the walls.  I typed up the notes for the workshop
and watched 'true detective' at the same time - it's a tension
filled intriguing show, although the southern accents often
needed subtitles.

NOT QUITE MACKED UP

BUGGAR - all is not sorted, gmail and bigpond aren't working properly on my new mac, more to be done with my mac man.  i hope this faithful old laptop i'm on now continues to work for a while more.

YESTERDAY i
finally got to go to the island (or mini peninsula or perhaps isthmus?) that marks the spot where the might murray and the darling meet.   A very pretty spot, about a 20 minute walk through trees along a grassy track to a small wooden platform with a fabulous sweeping view across the confluence, down to the lock and beyond, just a faint glimpse of my house in the distance through the trees. that's the murray on the right, darling on the left and my house would be just out of the bottom left of the pic past that green area, Lock 10

Printmaker Di Longley is coming to the end of a three week residency at the Art Vault and we decided to find and walk to the tip of the confluence - it will be a
place to take visitors in future, an impressive place, specially at
sunset.

Taken from the bridge that crosses to the island

My house looked very inviting from the front yard as we looked across to the confluence to the place we'd just been, watching the sun go down over the river - diamonds on the murray

MACKED UP

YESTERDAY matt the mac guy came for the morning and took my new laptop to upgrade all my graphics and word programs.  also tutored me in apple tv, the connectivity of everything in the house, my music, etc.   Just what i needed.   The rest of the day was a write off, i'd intended to spend it in th sprint studio tidying and sorting, preparing for the classes on the weekend. but i just lay on the couch under a blanket, so weary.  at work today someone mentioned it could be the huge  amount of pollen and plant matter in the air after a windy week - we are surrounded by kilometres of crops after all. I hadn't thought about that before but maybe it was the cause.

WORK TODAY - and after getting home i had a walk around the garden with the camera.   at the bustop this morning a goat cam walking casually down the main street, up to the newsagent, across the road to look in the pub door, then followed a man down sandwich street and around the corner out of sight  (:0|

what? the pub's not open at 7.45am?

Nice to get home tonight and have a slow walk down to the riverbank and around the garden with the camera
never too late to fish - it's almost sunset but they look settled in for the duration

SUNDAY - CATCHING UP

this is the good shot :-\
SORRY BLOG - I've neglected you.  what've i been doing?  Mostly working and applying for a new passport in a panic after learning that a passport with less than 6 mths left on it is often rejected.  Mine has less than 3 so i went to the PO and got photos - they were so bad i've taken my own.  now i'm going to be stressed worrying that it will get back in time, i have four weeks till I leave for japan and it's a minimum 3 weeks for the passport.  eeeek

FRIEND Jeff from court sketching days is here with his wife Wendy so i've had coffee with them the last three mornings down at Artback. Been enjoying chef john's brekkies too :0)

steve hederics does the sunday morning thing

TODAY I'm determined to finish the work on my current book, then use the rest of my time here during the week to sort out the print studio.  It's getting there, just needs some tidying and preparation for classes next weekend.
As I'm working at the table looking out at the river there's a steady stream of birds - a gorgeous warm spring day too

this lovely butcher bird was singing outside the kitchen window, the wisteria is about to pop

PRINTING TODAY

TUESDAY- a day of organising the garage and printing.  shaun the plumber turned up on my roof unannounced 'i thought no one was home'  - anyway he took away the giant tarp that had been left up there.  night before was the really blowy one, and it was banging away on the roof, so i'm glad that's gone.  claimed he hadn't got my three previous messages asking why he hadn't come.  situation normal.
I got a lot done, a satisfying day and dinner at the pub with sam and di cross.
