SUNDAY MORNING

RENE, SAYAKA, CAL and MARA arrive today :0)   going into town to buy a couple of little wading pools.  it's cooler this morning - 31 today so this evening should be lovely - wind permitting.
Nice dinner at sue and derek's last night. beautiful asian food on a very warm night. i hope this is our last serious heatwave this summer, somehow i don't think so although the coming week looks good.

THE TEMPERATURE'S RISING again, high 30's now, 40's for the next few days.  the mornings are cool and gorgeous.  monday i couldn't move - just dog tired so i veged out all day to episodes of 'in treatment' , a terrific series about a psychotherapist and four of his patients, week by week.  gabriel byrne and a great cast.
so after that big rest it was go go go yesterday, the house needs a complete clean and sort.  halfway there and i feel i can breathe again. more today.
RENE and family are coming next week (or on the weekend) and i need to rearrange things so the littlies can be here safely. i have so much stuff at floor level :0{   I'm really having to think about it.

NEW BIRD PLAYGROUND

I SPENT SOME TIME yesterday installing a new birdbath, shallow this time for smaller birds, with a paver and some large pebbles to give them a foothold.   it's positioned in shade outside the kitchen window, next to the spot where the evaporative cooler drips down the passionfruit vine - this is where i saw the little pardalote so i'm hoping it'll return to use the birdbath.  others are using it already :0)

YESTERDAY, driving into mildura to see two films, the Darkest Hour and Florida Project.   gary oldman is amazing, so often unrecognisable, always good
He's such a chameleon, so different in each of his roles and the makeup and
prosthetics he waore in churchill were flawless, even in ultra close-up

FIVE DAYS of catching up - melbourne, geelong, torquay and the grampians, now home in warm weather again after a refreshing cool spell.  exhibition taken down and about to be picked up.

WIFI AGAIN

I'M IN MELBOURNE - with wifi for a few days.  i left after four days of low 40's, i think my house had finally absorbed it into the walls and i was glad to escape.  next morning i work up to cold wind and rain in south melbourne, it was divine. 

my show at dromkeen is packed up and ready to go after seven hours of hard slog, reframing  new work into frames of things that had sold, making endless lists and photographing things for the newcastle library which is showing the exhibition next, then bubble wrapping 34 works and boxing up all the support material  - phew.

Now i'm in torquay and staying at jen and robs.  can't sleep - it's the blue blood supermoon today but there's a lot of cloud. i took these pics close to 11 and no sign yet of the eclipse beginning. i went back out at 1.15 and not a sign of the moon,  grrr
