BY THE SEA BY THE SEA

PRINTING IN THE AFTERNOON

SETTING THE PRESSURE on janet's lovely press, inking up new plates to see what they're like.  I did a couple of prints, nothing special but I'm getting to know my way around the press and the setup.  It's been a while

QUEENSCLIFF

A MORNING OF WALKING
around queenscliff with vicki, who loves it here as a new part-time resident.

we walked all around the waterfront, the marina, past the fort
and the lighthouses, it really is a diverse area,
i saw a lot of places i didn't know existed,
both new and old.

A SILVERY DAY

TODAY WAS A NICE DAY of just walking and checking out queenscliff. We found an interesting building,  the marine research centre.  Beaches in winter are so lovely, peaceful, gentle diffused colours, birds everywhere.

MORNING WALK

I PICKED UP THE NEWSPAPER  and walked home through the lovely old Point Lonsdale cemetery.

Sunny's here for the weekend - we had dinner with Susan and Sean, Jenny and Freddie at the Torquay Bowls club after a lot of op shopping :0)

AAHHHH

WHAT A NICE DAY   after a couple of days of input,  seeing swan lake and preparing plates and buying art supplies in fitzroy, i've had a good day here at pt. lonsdale.

I've been for a long walk up to the lakes, lots of swans there today so i got a stack of photos.  I have to observe them thru the lens because they're out in the water.  thank god for my camera - i can see them up close without frightening them away.

TWO DAYS IN THE BIG SMOKE

TIME WITH SUNNY :0)   We met and went to see Swan Lake - a slightly down market production, the St Petersburg ballet at the Convention Centre, a huge new barn of a place, huge open spaces, everything bright orange. strangely sterile. the theatre was fine but the music was recorded,  the dancers were good, swan queen and sorcerer's daughter were beautiful dancers but the prince . . . very sad  and kind of funny. no expression, only an OK dancer, big nose, no chin  -  am i being unkind??  he had NUTHIN! but it was fun talking about him.  Yes, i'm being unkind  :0)

Nice to be down by the water and to be out in melbourne on a crisp winter night

YESTERDAY - a day of printing at the print workshop, a day of failures for me, i spent a lot of money on copper and i think I ruined half of it in the processing room.   I'm back at janet's so i'll do some printing with them today and see if it's as bad as i think    :0(  boo hoo

The good part of the day - visiting Leigh on the way home, just a quick visit but good to catch up with him, nice to see Dmetri too, and of course the funny dogs snowy and lucy.

MAGGIES

AT JANET AND BEVAN'S  the magpies have been loving the chicken bones i left out, hours of fun on the outdoor table,  pulling with beaks, tugging with claws, tossing and chomping

WHOO HOO

I'M ENSCONCED!   Had a lovely dinner last night with Janet and Bevan and a day of slowly settling in and unpacking my stuff - Janet's studio is starting to feel like my workspace and the house is now empty as Janet and Bevan have left for Queensland.

It's been a nice day, we had a long long walk in freezing weather this morning, the angora coat is doing it's stuff - I was well and truly protected from the weather :0)

rocky formations on the shore - like a mini mungo

ah, the beautiful swans,  one of the reasons i'm here
