GRAHAM

FINALLY!!   i got some pics of graham clarke -  I need an indigenous man and daughter for an illustration and graham's just proved elusive.  but i grabbed him at the post office by chance and got some shots on the footpath  - he he :0)

walking home up the laneway

CRIKEY!

NOISY WEEKEND

THESE PELICANS are keeping their cool despite the roar of revving speedboat engines and speeding waterskiers - it's as bad as the grand prix.  :0(  one weekend only thank goodness

FULL MOON TONIGHT

CLEAR SKIES up here most nights mean the full moon is almost always visible.  hopefully tonight it will be - last night's waxing gibbous was gorgeous

found this monoprint in the drawer, must get it framed

this is the poster i did for the CBCA the year after i won picture book of
the year - it's  always the winner who does the next year's book week poster.
it's in the Lu Rees archive in Canberra and they just sent me this pic - it's
been part of an exhibition they've just held. nice to see it again

GARDENING

I'M COMPLETELY BUSHED - whoops, bad pun.  i've been out in the gardening doing masses of weeding, trimming, my gardening pants are ripped from a tussle with a bougainvillea, lots more to do but i'm determined to have everything looking great for the illustrators weekend.
my favorite tree on the golf course - simply huge

I'm also replacing flywire on a window and a door.   my poor airbnb visitor from prague said mozzies were getting in the holes in his flywire door,  tiny holes they were but the door needs a tart up so it's going to get one :0)

MY IRISES are all starting to come out after the first one for the season was vandalised and scattered by a marauding cockie.

NOTHING TO REPORT

PRINTING, MOUNTING WORK - and of course watching the grand final.  today gardening, a nice weekend at home

very happy with this print from yesterday - for the current book, there's work to do on it but colour will be really minimal and neutral

GORGEOUS

IT'S A BEAUTIFUL SUNNY MORNING, there are about five fishing boats on the river, two big houseboats just passed by and my airbnb man has headed back to melbourne.
he's a young czech man travelling alone. he's been all around here, drove up to broken hill yesterday and barely missed hitting an emu.

now he's off to brisbane for a few days then home.  i have the house to myself again so it's gardening for me this weekend. :0)  off to bunnings for new hoses and spray fittings.
