Don and Helen

I got quite emotional when i was showing this to Steph, the therapist i'm seeing.  i was writing about sunraysia and how i wasn't sure where my love of that mallee region came from when i thought of this pic of my dad and helen on the Murray.  i printed it out and took it along - my tears surprised me, sort of.   maybe not such a surprise really. I've lost both of them.

TRINITY BEACH

well so much for adding photos in a few days, it's been another 2 weeks and now here i am at trinity beach with gail for our wonderful week of R&R at janet and bevan's    our second last day here :0(

it's just flashed by, gail's doing some watercolour and i'm doing this after way too long.  just spent some time cleaning mould off the front door, on the outside.  it must be a constant battle here in the tropics, keeping on top of plants growing so crazily in the humidity and the mould and damp.

so many photos since early april i'll have to be very selective. I had a great meeting with erica, she was very encouraging and i'm getting a decent submission together for other publishers too.  i'll have to send a few out together because a rejection or two will put me off sending more.  it's a scary process showing work you care about to people.  specially writing because it's new to me.

It's been gorgeous down at the water - super clear & lovely autumn air

Loyal little Buzz, waiting for his owner to come out of the water

A new word - THALASSOPHILE - one who loves and desires to be near the sea

April 18 - had a lovely overnight visit from Isobelle who said some really nice things about my writing.  Seeing her and Erica has given me some confidence and i'm very happy with the way the dummy book is coming along.

I stayed at sunny's for a couple of nights when i couldn't get the key
to work at sandra's where i was going to have a couple of nights before
my meeting with erica.  i had a couple of hours with etta in the park and
this is her, hiding and calling out for me to find her  :0) little character

Etta's entered the princess phase, Elsa is the go and
the tiara and blue 'cloak' are everyday wear, the cloak
is a nightie that sunny was going to make into an Elsa
dress but etta just tucked in her belt at the back and
   wore it for days  :0)

We went to 3 yo kinder, my first visit. etta was all keen then got shy
    when we arrived.

More happy mornings at Indented Head foreshore

a free yoga class - i realised how much strength i've lost

LAZY SALTY BITCH

I HAVEN'T HAD TIME in my head to even remember to update this poor neglected blog - too busy knocking my book into some kind of shape to make up into a dummy.  progress has been made!  i'm seeing erica on tuesday, housesitting at sandra's for a few days beforehand so i need to get as much done as possible before i go - no inDesign on my current laptop.  i'll add some pics in a day or two, i'm only here to look back at the beginning of the blog, i began it just before i moved to the river.

HIGH TIME

YES, HIGH TIME i updated this blog, it's April Fools Day and Easter Monday.  5.30 so i'll spend some time on this then get down to have a walk and a swim and there's a free yoga lesson at 8 at the yacht club. i need to do some research today too, i'm writing a book about my time on the river and reading the blog's day to day writing, which is what i did when i started, is essential when trying to get the sequence of events right. i only started this in 2012 when i moved so figuring out the dates of events leading up to find the house is proving a bit tricky.  i'm relying on my handwritten journals and it's time to really delve in and get a timeline sorted out.

since march 18, my last entry and rene's birthday i've been swimming regularly, starting to walk again too.

Been to Gail's twice for an overnighter and a morning swim with the Waders.

Jenny and I headed up to Don's at Lake Lonsdale for a couple of nights. it was good to have a whole day with don, his eyesight is a worry, I'm concerned about him driving but he's isolated out there if he can't drive.

don's always got seed out for the birds

Lake Lonsdale's full and healthy

a beautiful sunset at my place, almost rivalling sunraysia skies

      hello melbourne

Back at Indented Head, easter friday sunrise

EASTER and sunny, luke and etta came down on friday.
i met them at queenscliff after they came over on the ferry.  big easter egg hunt on sat morning, etta wanted to hide the eggs herself and we all had to find them, then she hid them again, then again!  i'm still finding them three days later :0) Time at the beach and absolutely glorious sunny autumn days

BIO LUMINESCENCE  Swimmers have seen this in the water for the past three days, so we all congregated at 6am and went into the bay.  small luminous bubbles fanned out from our hands as we stroked thru the water then we all kicked out feet under the surface and bubbles filled the darkness.  it wasn't as bright or blue as i expected but magical nonetheless

i couldn't get the camera flash to
turn off so this was the only shot i
got, looks like my gastroscopy!!

we were all pretty hyped up afterwards :0)

a very dark morning at torquay, nice in the water though

just before easter, i was swimming and looked up to
see two black swans swimming past. i tried to swim
closer to get a better shot, but they were too fast
for me

THIS MONTH'S BEAUTIFUL MOON

BEAUTIFUL SUNRISES TOO
