SUNNY AND ETTA ARRIVE TOMORROW

I'M EXCITED!!  Sunny and Etta fly in at 10.30 tomorrow.  Everything is good here, the garden's looking great after the beautiful rain we've had - there's more on the way.

the kangaroos are back now that my family has gone,  sorry they missed seeing them.  yesterday a small female arrived and today she's joined by a protective looking male.  i'm hoping they've mated.  They're nestled in the saltbush in the front yard.

I  revisited my bathers and dress

print series yesterday after

receiving an inquiry about

them through the style file.

hopefully i'll sell one or two.

i'm surprised i have more

versions than i thought, they

were fun to work on.

A QUIET WEEK

at home again before

Jenny and Freddie arrived

on friday for three days.

taking it easy as my

shoulder still feels

strange and a bit

delicate

VISITED THE DOC on Friday and he says everything is going fine  I should get used to the feel of the plate in my shoulder by six months (it's been two) and the bone is healing well, my arm movement is improving as he would expect too so i need to relax and slowly do a little more each week to encourage flexibility.  I feel better after talking to him.

Unbelievably it poured rain the day before and now it's a wintry weekend,  cool and breezy instead of the high 20's we would have expected.   Still nice though to be together, Scrabble, movies, and yesterday we went to a clearing sale. Such a country event,  utes parked up and down both sides of Channel Road in Curlwaa.   Marg Thomson's late husband Col's shedful of tools, equipment, farm vehicles.   A big event complete with sausage sizzle.   And the sun came out!

The kingfishers are in the garden every day

The skies

are as

gorgeous as

ever

A WONDERFUL WEEK AWAY

BORDERS ARE OPEN, 80% of victoria is double vaxed and i jumped on a plane and flew to melbourne.

FIRST NIGHT - a quiet one, an afternoon at sunny's with no one home, time to catch up on the laptop using a good wifi after iinet stuffed mine up.  I had a meal with thornton in smith st, good to see him face to face after a couple of. years of Words with Friends :0).   Lots of walking today and a tram trip.  small things but lovely to be out without a mask.

SECOND DAY -  I headed off to the nova and saw a very scary great-looking film called The Night House.  sunny, luke and etta returned from warburton and we had a lovely family evening of dinner at home.

DAY THREE  i caught the train to geelong and dear sean picked me up from the station.  a lazy afternoon and pizza for tea.

DAY FOUR.  susan and i had a long walk thru the botanical gardens and down around eastern beach in perfect warm weather.  we had lunch at the wharf shed with the sparkling bay spread out before us

then i headed over to denise's to have dinner at the elephant castle with jenny  d and denise.  stayed at denise's

DAY FIVE     denise and i had brekky and went to a couple of op shops in the morning then gail picked me up to go over to her place at torquay.   We got together with jenny and freddie and anne and dennis there for drinks then they left and we had a quiet night of fish'n'chips and telly.   after a walk around the garden of course

DAY SIX      Sunny, Luke and Etta came down in the morning and we all headed off to the beach.  stormy weather was expected but we escaped it whilst enjoying the gathering thunderclouds and fabulous colour of the sea beneath it.

Susan came down on the bus, jenny and freddie came over too, and Ian and Sean came later.  it was a great day, we all headed back to gail's and basically just watched etta going thru her range of tricks :0).

I drove back to Coburg with Sunny and Luke to stay on my last night.    We had a leisurely brekky and there was plenty of time to just be with sunny, luke and etta before they drove me to the airport for a 3.45 flight.

peter picked me up and i got from their house, home by 6.   what a week!   things dovetailed together with friends and family picking me up and dropping me off.   walking with sunny and etta in the pram was a delight and time spent with friends in small groups was perfect, time to talk.   weather was good too, tropical humidity but little rain.

i've come home feeling so 'fed' with all that time in company of people i love.   so glad i went and today - a big fat lazy day enjoying home, the garden and the river.
