I HAVEN'T USED OILS much in the past ten years and I'm enjoying getting back into it, here are stages of an illustration for the book, afghani girls at studies

COOL DUDES

UNFLAPPABLE - ducks on darling street yesterday morning,  casually strolling out of the path of an oncoming car

WARM MORNING

LOOKS LIKE four hot days coming up, 35s and 36s - but now at 6.30am it's just beautiful and the sun is coming up over the lock.

WORKING ON MY BOOK

PRACTISING drawing Muslim girls in their headscarves today, i have a group of three or four to put into an illustration

CHEEKY VISITOR

BACK HOME

WIFI again, so i'll catch up on the past few days.  good times staying with janet and bevan, then a night at gails with jenny and freddie calling in.  a morning having a hamam, three glorious hours of relaxing in the hot and warm pools and spas at RACV, then a night with denise.  jenny dalton called round so i've managed to see lots of people in a few days, no rush either. 
last night in ballarat with helen and a bit of op shopping before i drove home through glorious mallee country simply bursting with ripe wheatfields and beautiful silos against blue sky :0)    home now and about to go for a long overdue walk

THE SHOW

THE SUN SHONE on the rip after a few wintry days, and heaps of people came to  the opening and book launch. 

lovely to see old and new friends and to sell heaps of books. janet and bevan hung the show beautifully and the gallery looked terrific.

SUNNY

GREAT TO SEE SUNNY - a couple of drinks at the pub and a look at the beautiful book of botanical samples she's put together in her horticultural course.  large A3 format hardcover

ON THE ROAD AGAIN

BEAUTIFUL SKIES right through the mallee on the way down to see helen in ballarat, en route to the exhibition opening and my book launch.  Swan Lake is now in the book shops  :0)

MORNING LIGHT

IT'S THAT TIME - the sun is moving around and starting to rise towards the middle of the lock.   by xmas it will be bang on centre, sunset too,  gorgeous.   a nice place to work at the easel

WHAT A SURPRISE!   this huge frilly poppy suddenly appeared in the garden, one of many seeds i scattered a couple of years ago
