A WEEK OF SWIMS
different every day

FRIDAY
After a decade on the Murray/Darling confluence I've moved to the Bellarine Peninsula on Pt Phillip Bay. I've been so lucky to spend time with the fabulous birdlife and animals and the river itself, not to mention the warm and friendly people of the Sunraysia. Now i'll be close to family and old friends. My new home is surrounded by the bay and wetlands so there'll be much to discover
I GOT A COUPLE OF SWIMS in when René was here but i was fighting off a cold so gave up for the rest of the week.
now i'm back and it's a gorgeous as ever, i love having the underwater camera to capture the water surface. it's been super hot the past three days, high 30's and very warm nights. my next door neighbour jen texted to see if i wanted to go snorkelling under the st leonards pier. i just wore my goggles, she had on the full l/s wetsuit, cap, goggles and snorkel. i find all that clobber claustrophobic, i want to feel the water on my skin. we had a lovely long swim under the pier, lots of fish and beautiful seaweeds, and interesting shells on the pylons, mussels and welks i think. i really enjoyed it
PICS from this week
AFTER FOUR YEARS!! AT LAST - René, Sayaka, Cal and Mara arrived on the 27th Feb. I headed home from my babysitting weekend in melbourne and they all arrived the next day. They came for 5 days but ended up staying nine after their borrowed car broke down on the friday afternoon. by the time the garage did a diagnosis on monday they had to rent a car to drive back
But the time here was wonderful, the kids loved their room, we had easy bbq dinners, went to the beach, op shops, and it was great to catch up with some of rené's friends.
One of the highlights of the visit was watching the cousins
meeting for the first time.
what an absolutely gorgeous family |
