MELBOURNE TRIP

THIS WEEK i spent a night with sunny luke and etta.  they both had wednesday off so we were able to spend a whole day and night.  Etta's grown so much, really talking and as busy and funny as ever.

Luke cooked a superb meal, rare kangaroo with roasted beetroot and broccolini.  and the best, most delectable chocolate chip cookies i've ever had.

it's great being
 so much closer
 - i can just decide
 to go at the last
minute instead of
 the commitment
 of a week
 travelling down
 from wenty

shopping with etta :0)

CAUGHT UP  with leigh and the anns, dinner at a pub in sth melbourne - so good to spend time with them after too long

I've been swimming most mornings - mmmm!

STUPID KNEE

AT MY LAST POST my knee was improving then it took a dive again but over the past few days it's getting better again (i say tentatively).   it's amazing how one small part of the body can affect everything else, so limiting in what i can do, spending lots of time with my knee up with ice etc feeling like my life is slipping away.

on the bright side i've still been swimming most mornings.  I got some really good swimming tip from two of the Salties this morning, things i just didn't know.  Not to kick - it keeps the body high in the water.  breathing out through the nose, longer slower strokes.   it feels different so i'll be practising all those things. it was a beautiful morning.

MY TWO SWIMMING TEACHERS THIS MORNING Roz and Lou

pics from the past week

there's been a group of 3 pelicans flying overhead some
mornings - haven't captured them but this one visited this week

i swam to the pole this particular morning, about 700m??  not sure

the drive home from st leonards - salt lagoon

Thursday was hot - I drove over to queenscliff and had a swim and fish and chips with a mystery friend

]

on friday we had a group jump of the St Leonards pier, lots of people - maybe thirty.  we jumped in groups of two to four - a joyous event watched by bemused fishermen at sunrise

and i've been completely obsessed with getting everything for the bathroom, the taps, and two batches of tiles arrive monday, all the tapware is due by courier next week too.  vanity is ordered and all i have to choose now is a light fitting - NOT downlights despite trent's enthusiasm for them.  i dislike everything about them, the direction of light, how it lands and the trickiness of changing the globes which in the past have exploded unexpectedly for no reason  -  hate 'em

light ideas

BACK IN THE WATER

FEB 12 - AFTER NURSING A SORE KNEE for over a week it's been great to get back in the water at sunrise. such a great start to the day and getting to know the women and men who swim is good

GAIL came to stay this week and we joined
the salties on a beautiful morning :0)

I'M EXCITED!!

I'VE GOT THE GO AHEAD from trent the builder to get everything for the new bathroom, he's starting soon :0).  so all the taps and shower and bath are ordered, tiles chosen and vanity/basin about to be ordered.  it'll make a huge different to the house, i can't wait for it to be done.  he says he'll try to get it done in two weeks - hmmm, just writing that i wonder if he meant in two weeks time or that it will take two weeks  😶
