After a decade on the Murray/Darling confluence I've moved to the Bellarine Peninsula on Pt Phillip Bay. I've been so lucky to spend time with the fabulous birdlife and animals and the river itself, not to mention the warm and friendly people of the Sunraysia. Now i'll be close to family and old friends. My new home is surrounded by the bay and wetlands so there'll be much to discover

WATER WATER EVERY WHERE . . .
BUT not enough on my garden, everything is so dry - it's going to take me a while to understand
the weather and the depth of the dryness, thank god i have a water guy coming on monday to
look around and give me some advice.
i've been gardening all day, planted a couple of drought resistent natives and spent time installing
sprinklers to the neglected existing hose running through the garden outside the kitchen window.
i'll start with that one and lay down wet newspaper and peastraw to keep the moisture in, and hopefully
work my way gradually around this upper garden near the house
i need a break and there's jazz in at the art vault in half an hour, then dinner with julie, kev and the resident artists steph and sophie. just what i need - a little socialising
