BACK IN THE WATER

AT LAST!! Almost two months with only one swim.  After my shoulder op and 2 weeks in a sling i had a trip to Hotham for a week, then sore shoulderblade and treatment which concentrated on heat so no swimming.  then a week in halls gap and wenty after which i got a cold.  isobelle and i did visit the salties on the winter solstice swim but this week is the first time i've been back in the water. Temperature has gone from 12 to 8!!   it is really cold and i overdid it the second day, swam to the pole, hung around with ros and alex chatting and taking pics and got motion sickness on the way back.  was actually sick when i got home and went back to bed.  i'd had only 2 hours sleep the night before so it all came together to wipe me out for a day.  but i've been back in since and it's fine.  also went back to the myotherapist and he's encouraged me to swim.  it does feel so good, counterintuitive but true.

HALLS GAP and WENTY

JUNE 30 was our annual halls gap weekend. Susan and Sean, Jenny and Freddie, Sunny, Luke, Etta and I.

I took heatpacks to use on the drive, felt delicious. I had a night at don's first, a walk up towards the lake and time with don is always good.

HALLS GAP  Weather was very wet, lots of soft rain on Saturday and pools of water on the ground everywhere. Sunday the sun came out so we had the firepit going.  wildlife was everywhere, we were surrounded by kangaroos every day and there were very tame kookaburras and rosellas at the house and down at the stony creek cafes.

Etta kept us entertained - she loved the pool table and spent a lot of time rearranging the balls in the triangle :0) she has no trouble keeping her amused all day, going from one thing to another, constantly discovering and exploring.  we had a belated birthday celebration for her too - Mum's chocolate cake and presents

Scrabble, bbq, fire, games of pool, walks and enjoying the wildlife - all the things we love about halls gap and the house is fabulous, so much space for us all to spread out in.
