BUSY MONDAY

THE WEATHER IS PERFECT, i had a brisk walk down to the supermarket at 8am and was almost cold.  the golf course is green and gorgeous and covered in wood ducks.
Quickly home to get ready for a morning of printing with anne. she arrived around 9.30 and we played in the studio till midday. no pics coz the battery was flat :0/

Then a quick change and we both drove into mildura for the meeting of Arts Mildura, figuring out it's future.  Left early to get back for our own Makers meeting at the pub.  what a difference, from a meeting about an organisation that has failed and needs to re-think itself to our own group which is just starting out and full of energy and enthusiasm.  An interesting contrast.

I took these pics around 7 as the sun came up

whoo hoo   the easter moon is almost here

RENE'S BIRTHDAY

MARCH 18 - rene turned 35!

GREAT DAY OF PRINTING

SUSAN WALD'S monoprint workshop
at the Art Vault - wonderful. I did exactly what i'd hoped, loosened up and just played around with ink all day. we all did terrific things, all so different. A thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding day :0)  I conked out bigtime when i got home, in fact i was pretty spent by about 4, it was totally absorbing.

YUCKY WEATHER

AFTER WEEKS OF WARM to hot, last night we finally got rain, nice and heavy but only for about 20 minutes.  Now it's really blowy and unpleasant and even dusty again :0(    hope it blows over soon, at least it's nice and cool.

MORNING WALK

THE MORNINGS ARE BEAUTIFUL now, cool and comfortable. Days are still vey warm, 35 today, but tomorrow is going to be 25 - whoo hoo, maybe rain today.  i won't hold my breath though.

I walked on the island yesterday, there were birds everywhere. I saw a family of darters, the adults flying off to find food and coming back honking all the way. they make a strange sound, very metallic and loud.  fabulous birds.

MEANWHILE in Mildura, crested pigeons are taking over the town.  these birds make me laugh, and i love the whirring sound they make as they fly

I TOOK THESE SHOTS as i headed to the ARt Vault for an opening of work by local artists, i have two monoprints in it.

nice dinner afterwards with sonja, helen and visiting artist susan wald and partner ted.  I'm doing her monoprint workshop on saturday.

very happy with this 'pash' shot taken with sonja's phone in front

FAMILY ON THE MOVE

LOVE THIS PIC - rene and family riding along what looks like their own street, Orange Street.  It's a great neighbourhood full of small designer clothes and home shops, lots of bikes and pedestrians, very slow traffic with not a lot of cars at all so this little buggy will be great.

MORE BIRDS :0)

A COOL MORNING, still unwinding after the two weeks of buildup to the arts festival weekends, nice to be walking again.

MORNING WALK

I NEEDED YESTERDAY'S REST - back to normal today,  had a long walk over the golf course past the oval where swallows were dipping and soaring.

Went to see Lady in the Van with donnie and peter,  i didn't like it at all, i thought it was boring, too much maggie acting, not enough story about the actual woman.  peter thought it was brilliant, donnie was unimpressed.
On the way home, large groups of ibis in the vineyards
